Most fall guides for Colorado Springs treat the season as a bucket list. Pick a pumpkin patch, drive to Cripple Creek, add a ghost tour. That framing does not describe fall in Northgate, because almost nothing on the standard list is inside Northgate. What is inside Northgate, packed into roughly two miles between the Air Force Academy's north gate and the Polaris Pointe development at Voyager Parkway, is a different problem entirely.
It is a scheduling problem. Between late August and Thanksgiving, three of the region's largest event footprints, Falcon Stadium, Ford Amphitheater, and the new Surf Shack indoor wave venue, are all pulling traffic to the same interchange on the same Saturdays. Reading the corridor's calendar sideways, deciding which nights to walk over, which to drive out of, and which to stay home and let the neighborhood come to you, is the practical skill of a Northgate fall.
The Corridor, Compressed
If you live off Northgate Boulevard, Struthers, Spectrum Loop, or anywhere in Copper Ridge or Gleneagle, your fall entertainment options sit inside a walkable-to-short-drive radius that includes:
- Falcon Stadium at the U.S. Air Force Academy, seating 56,409
- Ford Amphitheater at 95 Spectrum Loop, inside Polaris Pointe
- Boot Barn Hall at Bourbon Brothers, 13071 Bass Pro Drive
- Top Golf, iFly, Air City 360, Overdrive Raceway, and the forthcoming Surf Shack, all clustered around the Spectrum Loop / Voyager Parkway intersection
- Shops at Polaris Pointe, anchored by Bass Pro Shops, with Kneaders, Chick-fil-A, Sprouts, Costa Vida, Mod Pizza, and Boot Barn as tenants
The commercial center of that radius is the mixed-use development that Continental Properties calls a 200-acre master-planned Polaris Pointe development in Colorado Springs, and it is now dense enough that a resident's fall weekend can be planned entirely inside it. What follows is how the specific dates line up in 2026.
Seven Home Saturdays At Falcon Stadium
The 2026 Air Force football season is unusually front-loaded for home games. The schedule features 12 regular-season games with seven home matchups at Falcon Stadium and a Commander-in-Chief's Trophy slate against both Navy and Army. Four of those seven home games land in October and November, with two moved to Friday primetime for television.

CBS will once again broadcast both service academy games, starting with a 10 a.m. kickoff vs. Navy on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Falcon Stadium. A few things a resident learns after a season or two:
The 10 a.m. Navy kickoff on October 3 is the single busiest morning of the corridor's fall. Northgate Boulevard eastbound backs up from the Powers exit ramp well before nine. If your household plans a weekend errand run at Bass Pro or Sprouts, do it Friday evening or push it to Sunday.
The Halloween home game against UConn is worth noting for parents. A 1 p.m. kickoff on October 31 means the stadium clears roughly at the exact moment neighborhood trick-or-treating begins. Traffic on Struthers and Voyager between four and six is going to be denser than a normal Saturday night.
The Friday, November 20 UTEP kickoff at 6 p.m. is a new pattern. New television partner CW will televise three games, moving all three to Friday. Air Force at Wyoming moves to Oct. 23 and will kickoff at 7 p.m. MT. The UTEP game in Falcon Stadium on Friday, Nov. 20, will start at 6 p.m. That is a weeknight football crowd stacked on top of a Friday evening dinner rush at every restaurant in Polaris Pointe. Reservations that night are not optional.
Across The Parking Lot, A National Concert Calendar
Ford Amphitheater sits about a mile and a half from Falcon Stadium's north gate. Its fall lineup this year runs deeper than most Northgate residents realized when the venue opened. Confirmed 2026 dates from the venue's own listings include Ty Myers on 8/29/26 at 7:30 PM, Brantley Gilbert on 9/5/26 at 7:30 PM, and Lynyrd Skynyrd w/ 38 Special on 9/19/26 at 7:30 PM, followed by for King & Country on Sat, Oct 3, 7:00pm at Ford Amphitheater.
That October 3 date is the collision worth circling. It is a 10 a.m. Navy kickoff followed by a 7 p.m. concert, two capacity events at two venues on the same road on the same day. If you live in Copper Ridge or Gleneagle and are attending neither, plan your day around the corridor emptying between roughly 2 and 4 p.m. and refilling around 5:30. If you are attending both, do not drive between them. Park once.
September 5 is a similar stack: the football home opener against Duquesne at 11 a.m., then Brantley Gilbert at Ford at 7:30 p.m. September 19 pairs a bye week with Lynyrd Skynyrd, so the road is only carrying the concert crowd. That is the calmer of the three September Saturdays.
The Newest Reason To Stay Local
The one genuinely new arrival in the corridor this year is Surf Shack, the indoor FlowRider wave facility going up between Top Golf and the Bass Pro side of Polaris Pointe. According to a FlowRider wave machine, which simulates ocean waves for surfers, will be the centerpiece of the planned 12,000-square-foot Surf Shack that's planned for the Polaris Pointe development southeast of Interstate 25 and Northgate Boulevard near Gleneagle. Surf Shack, a recreation center that will offer simulated indoor surfing, is taking shape just south of the Tri-Lakes area. Owner Dr. Michael Kofford, a Colorado Springs orthodontist, is targeting an early 2026 opening.
The relevant detail for a resident is not the wave. It is the location. It is nearby other sports entertainment facilities Top Golf and the Air City 360 Trampoline and Adventure Park. That means the block bounded by Spectrum Loop, Bass Pro Drive, and Voyager now contains, within a five-minute walk of each other: a golf entertainment complex, a trampoline park, an indoor skydive tunnel at iFly, a go-kart track at Overdrive, a country music venue at Boot Barn Hall, and a wave pool. For a family with a rained-out or snowed-in Saturday, that concentration is unusual for a Colorado Springs neighborhood. It is closer to what you find in the entertainment districts of Denver's suburbs, and it did not exist here five years ago.
Cost has moved with it. The project cost has increased from about $7 million initially to closer to $10 million currently, including the land, which tells you something about how much capital is chasing this particular intersection.
What The Stretch Looks Like On A Non-Event Weekend
Not every fall Saturday is a stadium day. On the quieter weekends, the pattern most Northgate residents settle into runs along a single stretch of retail. Shops at Polaris Pointe is the main local shopping destination for the rapidly growing community within the Northeast Corridor of Colorado Springs. This location benefits from the busy traffic generated by Costa Vida and Jimmy John's as well as Bass Pro Shops located across the street. Other retailers in the area include Sprouts Natural Grocers, AT&T, Mod Pizza, Chick-fil-A, Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant, Kneaders Baker and Boot Barn among others.
A useful loop for a fall Saturday morning: coffee and pastries at Kneaders, a walk through Bass Pro for the seasonal displays, groceries at Sprouts on the way out. Or reverse it in the afternoon with a Costa Vida stop before an early Ford show. Boot Barn Hall, tucked inside the Bourbon Brothers complex at 13071 Bass Pro Drive, runs a rotating calendar of touring country and tribute acts on the nights when Ford is dark.
One Spring Preview, Because It Changes The Corridor
Fall is also when Northgate residents start seeing the framing come together for a project that will reshape the north end of the corridor next spring. The new General Bradley and Zita Hosmer Visitor Center will open in Colorado Springs in May 2026. The launching plane-shaped architecture of the Air Force Academy Visitor Center has been preparing for takeoff for several years, and it is finally approaching wheels up. Officially named the General Bradley and Zita Hosmer Visitor Center, the 34,000-square-foot center will give visitors an immersive look at the cadet journey with seven themed galleries and interactive displays The 105-foot tall glass atrium offers an inspirational view of Pikes Peak. And with a pedestrian bridge connecting to Hotel Polaris, the visitor center will complete the last of the city's placemaking City 4 Champions projects.
For residents, the practical takeaway is that the pedestrian bridge is going to become a fixture of Saturday game-day walks between the visitor center, Hotel Polaris, and the north end of the Academy. If you have out-of-town family visiting for a November home game, that walk is going to be part of the ritual by next season.
The Pattern Worth Naming
The reason to read the Northgate fall calendar sideways rather than as a checklist is that this specific corridor now behaves less like a suburban neighborhood and more like an entertainment district that happens to have houses attached. That has real advantages, a five-minute drive to a national touring venue, a walkable dinner-and-a-show radius, an indoor rainy-day option that opened this year, and real trade-offs on the eight or nine peak Saturdays when the interchange is at capacity.
Locals who have lived here through a couple of these seasons already treat certain dates as fixed points and plan around them. October 3 is the day to be either fully in the corridor or fully out of it. September 5, September 19, October 17, October 31, and November 14 are the other home Saturdays worth marking. November 20 is the Friday to check twice.
